I am always cynical that these reviews aren't genuine, and I have a dim view of car dealers (and estate agents) and hate buying cars as a result, but dealing with Martin at Chris Roads was excellent from start to finish. I was searching for a very specific model and colour for 6 months, so when I had an autotrader alert ping that Chris Roads had the car I wanted I phoned to enquire. Martin called back within an hour and walked round car and outlined any flaws over the phone to me, and said he would get wheels tidied up and fresh MOT, and agreed to split delivery cost so I agreed to buy car unseen to be delivered following week. Over the next week Martin always called me back when he said he would, got wheels sorted and fresh MOT and valet/polish as agreed, and car was delivered on agreed day and looks fantastic. I had a couple of niggles first week which they agreed to pay for immediately with no hassle so I had local garage fix. I cannot fault Chris Roads or Martin for sales or service. Buying a car from 200 miles away was always going to be a worry, but went perfectly. I hope to get many years out of this car, but if I saw another at Chris Roads I would be very happy to deal with them again (which is very high praise for motor trade ;)

Couldn't Be Better!
I live around the corner from Chris W Roads so had a quick look at their stock online, initially thinking everything would be out of my price range. Actually I found a couple of affordable options that I liked and decided to nip over and have a look. I noticed another couple were looking at the DS I was first interested in, so I had a look at a Citroen C5 Aircross instead. It was very easy to get the keys and have a look around without the pressure of a salesperson looking over my shoulder. After about 10 minutes I decided I really liked the car, so I paid the £99 holding deposit and booked a test drive for the following day. This was a great experience as I was able to bring my named driver to try out the car as well, it only meant providing both of our details with no extra fuss. After the test drive I knew I wanted the car. Martin was very helpful with answering all of my questions and helped me submit my application for finance, which I was nervous to do on my own as previously I'd had a bunch of scam calls while browsing online. The whole process from viewing the car to driving away was Sunday to Wednesday (including Chris W Roads sending the car for a fresh MOT!) And couldn't have been much easier. I'm really glad I chose this dealership and will happily go again for my next vehicle.

myself and my husband had visited this garage 2-10-2024 we were welcomed by the sales team who we found to be extremely friendly and helpful we were allowed ample time to look around the lot without being badgered at all, we found this very refreshing (most garages barrage you with lots of questions ect) after having a good look I had decided on the Mini Cooper, we took it for a test drive and as we are from out of the area we were given great directions so we could take it for a good drive, once back at the garage we were offered a warm drink while we filled in the paperwork required, we paid a deposit to hold the car and were given a trade in price from my old car, the following Tuesday i was contacted by the sales team to fill in all the paperwork to finalise the finance , once this was completed we arranged to pick up the car 9-11-24, when we arrived at the garage the car was ready and waiting and after signing the paper work and sorting the road tax we were on our way home, we can not thank the staff enough for all of their help and we would recommend this garage to anyone wanting to buy a car from a stress free extremely friendly car garage thanks again to all the staff, you've been great 😊

Every interaction I've had with Wayne and the rest of the team has been fantastic. The team are very approachable, friendly and polite. The Ford Mustang I enquired about had around 8 months MOT on it, but they were good enough to get a fresh test done, that it unfortunately failed. Contacted Chris Roads who, although the warranty had expired, immediately said bring it in and we will have a look. A really polite and friendly mechanic said no problem we will sort it. One issue with braking was rectified before collection ! You might pay abit more from this garage but you are getting a well prepped , mechanically sound example. We called in here after reading excellent reviews and are happy to add to those. There was a good range of cars at a wide price range and we found the car we had initially viewed on their website. We had a quick, unpressured chat with Martin who gave a decent trade-in price for our car and we went away to think about it.We returned to make the purchase and talked to Wayne who could not have been more reassuring without the usual sales patter and hard sell. I spoke to Wayne when looking to buy my new Honda Civic. I originally spoke to him over the phone and he was more than happy to spend the time talking through everything with me and look at what I was looking for in a new car. Unlike most places Wayne was not looking to push a sale and wanted to take his time with everything to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. He organised a time for me to come and look over the vehicle and make sure it is what I was wanting. When I arrived at the dealership I was told to spend time on my own looking over everything and making sure the car was up to my standards before we even spoke about anything else and was able to take everything at my own pace. After this Wayne took the time to go over everything that they offer in regards to aftercare for the care but was clear that there was no obligation to get anything else. There were no pushy sales tactics or anything like that. He was more interested in making sure I was happy. After we had decided on the car he then took the time to have the vehicle looked over again by his team with a full service and MOT to give me peace of mind that everything was working as it should be. All in all I can not recommend this business enough and will definitely be returning in the future when I need a new car.

From pre to post purchase they have been amazing. I have dealt with a few of their employees now and all have been amazing.

The way in which they deal with customers is different to other garages, I didn't feel forced, pressured or any other negative feelings during the whole process.

When buying a car, it can feel like a risk especially when you have been lied to in the past by other car sales. I felt like they had done all they could to assure me the car is as they say. They didn't hide anything and their warranty has given me the peace of mind for the next 12 months too. I know sometimes warranty options can be not worth the paper they written on. Thankfully I haven't had to use that yet, but they will explain it all and how it is different.

Overall it's been amazing and I absolutely love my car. It was well worth the two round trips of almost 200 miles each.. I was sceptical because of the travel time, but in hindsight it was well worth the extra time.

Outstanding Dealership.
From the initial phone call with Martin (who actually returned a call of mine, a rarity these days) to the collection of the vehicle, the whole process was seamless. With a 2.5 hour journey to the dealership I wanted as many questions answered as possible before driving so far. Every question I had was answered fully and honestly giving me all I needed to make a distant decision. We arrived to collect the car and were looked after as soon as we arrived. We were given time to look over the car, which was immaculately presented, without any hassling and sent off on a predetermined test drive route, map in hand, and left alone to test the car. This is how dealers should sell cars!

We are delighted with the car but, I have noticed that the heater is warm one side and cold the other. I emailed the company and had a very swift call back from Cruz, the Service Manager. Another really nice guy who puts customers first. We have booked the car in for a few hours in a couple of weeks time and although it means 5 hours drive for me, Cruz will ensure that the repair will be completed and is ordering parts in, just in case they are needed. That's what customer service looks like......poor dealers, take note!

We plan to change my Wife's car at some point in the future and we will be coming back to this dealer to source the car.

The car did have a couple of issues that needed addressing but one call got into booked in for a inspection of what was needed and parts where order and I was rebooked for the to be fitted with the added bonus of a courtesy car. The best part was they just got on with it and didn't try and get out of sorting the problems out like some places do. I would highly recommend them.

The first thing that impressed me, which I thought was unusual, was that when I went to test drive the car, they gave me the keys and showed me the route that I should take. The rep from the company did not come with me. Previous experience has been different in that the rep comes with us. Furthermore, the route for the test drive was about 10 miles instead of a quick drive around the block!

I bought a car that was 10 years old. It came fully serviced & MOT'd.

There was a fault with the car which I noticed about 10 days after I bought it. I called the company about the fault. They asked that I take it to a local garage for the fault to be identified (I live about 30 miles from the dealership).
Chris W Roads have paid for the fault to be rectified. I am not aware of many used car dealerships that will take such responsibility for the cars that they sell.

The quality of customer service was 100% from start to finish. Would definitely recommend them.

It's so nice to find somewhere to buy a car with no hard selling tactics or pressure! Initially when my partner and I went to Chris W Roads we thought it was a small car garage but when we arrived we realised it was much bigger! A proper car showroom like the big names have. I was able to book a test drive on their website for the car we wanted and when we got there the car was ready for us. One thing we loved was that we could test drive the car without a member of staff with us. A recommended route was given - which was a great route to test drive any car. But we preferred this as sometimes it's hard to have an honest conversation about the car when you have the companies ears in the back. We test drove the car and the lovely Martin welcomed us in and we discuss figures. Martin was excellent and by far one of the best car salesmen we have ever met! There was no hard sale, it was an honest sale. We wanted to have a think about it and Martin provided us with all the info we needed and was quite happy to send us on our way knowing we could call him anytime if we had any questions. To be honest we pretty much decided right away we wanted the car. My partner is more the car guy but for me I want great customer service and Martin went above and beyond for us. The viewing and test drive were not rushed, the cars were all neat and tidily presented and there was no pressure selling either. On the day of our collection day a warning light appeared on the Jaguar's dash during its final preparation; the company director rang us immediately and explained the issue and then kept us updated as the technical team rectified the fault, working well in to the evening so that we could get the car the next day. When we did collect it, it was immaculately valeted so that it looked brand new. Despite there being no real inconvenience and the fault being beyond the dealership's control we received a generous goodwill gesture from them. Everybody at this dealership, but especially the Director, was a pleasure to deal with. We can wholeheartedly recommend this company.
